Simplified Accounting was established in 2011 when Rachael had a realisation: lots of local businesses wanted quality, jargon-free accounting advice and support without the big accountancy firm price tag.
Frankly, we love numbers. We don’t think they’re scary and we want you to feel the same way. We think the best way to do that is to keep it clear and simple. No fuss, no waffle, no problems.

Rachael has been a fan of figures for as long as she can remember. She had plans to be a Maths teacher but got side-tracked along the way and launched her career in big-firm accountancy in 1999.
She spent 12 years ‘in the office’ sharpening her pencils and her skills, but found herself increasingly frustrated by a world that billed by the minute. Plus she loved the work, but balancing it against a busy home life and the pressure of school drop-offs, pick-ups and activities? Not so much.
In the end, enough was enough. She saw a gap in the market for clear, fuss-free accounting and tax support, took the plunge and handed in her notice. Simplified Accounting was born.
Simplified Accounting allows Rachael to spend more time really getting to know her clients, building relationships, giving meaningful support and watching their businesses grow. It also gives her more time to go running, get stuck into a book and hang out with her husband and snowboarding-mad teenage daughter. Win, win!

Sadie is our Virtual Assistant, working remotely to keep our admin in check, our systems under control and our invoices on time! New clients have the pleasure of ‘meeting’ Sadie early on, as she arranges all of our on-boarding and appointment paperwork.
Sue, SRM Bookkeeping -
Sue looks after our clients’ payrolls and ensures that they’re compliant. She reports to HMRC on time, every month - no mean feat! If our clients have auto-enrolment pensions in place, then she sorts the reporting for these, too.
